Blog 8: White House Down

Cale has just been denied his dream job with the Secret Service of protecting the President. Not wanting his little girl Emily to know the news that he didn't get the job he decides to take on a tour around the white house. While they're at the white house a group of people come and attack the white house. Now Cale had to keep the president safe and try to look for his daughter that he lost while the big commotion happened. When I first heard about this movie, I thought it would be boring just by the title of it. Once a lot of people started recommending me to watch the movie I decided that I wouldn't loose anything from watching this movie. On the bright side Channing Tatum is an actor so he'll make the movie way better with his good looks. Once into the movie I was so into it and kept me at the edge of my seat. It was such a good movie. The only part I really disliked is when the bad guys are cartoonish and you kind of realize that this can't really happen and I kind of toon out of the movie. Also many parts the happened were a but unrealistic to me because they get hurt and keep on going like nothing is wrong. Except mostly in every movie that happens... they can get hit by a train and still survive to kill the bad guy. Overall I give this movie a B+ because it was a really intense movie.

Blog 7: Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor

In the movie Temptation is about a wife Judith that is getting tired of her husband not paying attention to her and forgetting many stuff about her. He simply isn't they guy Judith fell in love with. Judith soon gets a new job and meets a guy that she completely fell for. He made her feel like the only girl in the world. She soon found herself falling for him and little by little she started drifting away from her husband and more to this new guy. Before you know it Judith is no longer the women she was before. At the ends up leaving her husband and going for the guy she meet at her work. There are major twists in the movie. I loved the movie because it mad me cry at a few parts. Kim Kardashian plays in this movie as a work colleague for Judith. In my opinion I think Kim Kardashian was a horrible actor. It seemed like she tried too hard to act in the movie. Otherwise than that I really liked the movie and I was really intrigued. I would give this movie a B+.

Blog 6; The Call

When I first saw the movie cover of The Call I imagined it to be a horror movie. After watching it turns out that's not. An 911 operator gets a life-alternating call from a girl who has just been abducted. She soon needs to confront a killer from the past in order to save this girls life. I thought that the movie was just simply amazing. It kept me at the edge of my seat, not knowing what was going to happen next. It was such an intense movie because of how the girl that was abducted was trying escape and how the operator was helping her throughout the way. I feel in love with the movie. I was into the movie that I seriously didn't realize the I was at the edge of my bed practically trying to get into the television. The only thing that I didn't like was the ending because the operator and the abducted girl left the killer in a basement to die. I thought it could have been more interesting if they threw the guy in jail. Overall I give the move an A-. One of my favorite movies now.

Blog 5: The Call

This week I didn't get the chance to watch a movie. I've been caught up doing homework and getting my grades up. Except I have been brainstorming many ideas to try to make our project seem more interesting. I feel like just reviewing movies to boring. I've been thinking that I would like to ask some people from our school some of their favorite movies and watch those and review them. I think that would make it somewhat more interesting because then we can compare there ideas and ours. I'm still thinking on how to make this project more interesting. Well I've been wanting to watch The Call for a very long time now, I think that's going to be my next movie I'm going to watch. It seems like a very interesting and many of my friends have recommended me to watch it. Below is a picture of the movie cover of The Call.

Blog 4 ; The Patriots

The movie The Patriot takes place during the civil war. A farmer is forced to go to fight in the war to try to win the war so that his sons didn't die for anything. The movie doesn't touch many historical parts of civil war. It just shows the conflict between the farmer, Benjamin Martin, and a British officer. I loved how they showed the battles. Many graphic scenes. I thought it was a good movie to watch. It was kind of intense at parts when they would be in the battle field. I would have loved to see more history facts in it. Overall I really enjoyed the movie and how the actors acted. I think the most part that touched my heart is when at the end they include the African American as practically a family member and don't see him as a slave anymore. My overall grade would be a B+ .

Instructions Not Included

Instructions not included is a Spanish language movie. It all starts off as a Mexican bachelor forced to be a father and how that situation plays off in his life long struggle with fear. Since I knew how to speak spanish i understood all the parts where they spoke spanish, but for other people who don't speak spanish I think it would be tiring for them to read the subtitles throughout the whole movie. I thought the movie was so heartwarming. The movie shows how parent hood can change you. I had lots of laughs in this movie. There was many parts where I didn't expect to happen and it really surprised me because it kept me interested in the movie. I wouldn't put this movie as one of my favorite movies, but it is something fun to watch. I didn't like the ending so much because it didn't end how I would have imagined it, but it was shocking with what happened at the end. My overall grade for the movie is a C+. Below is a trailer of the movie.

Insidious 2

Insidious Chapter 2 basically starts off right after where Insidious Chapter 1 stopped off at. In Insidious Chapter 1, Josh Lambert had brought something back with him from the "further" and this thing is inside of him and wants to use him to harm his family. The creepy stuff is happening at night again, their son Dalton is hearing noises and they have to solve a mystery from the past in order to fix wrongs in the present. The whole story line was fantastic and explained a whole lot.  I loved how the first film connected to the second one, where characters had to go back to the past in order to learn more about the present and you sort of had the "Oh this makes sense now" right when they take it to the past. It wasn't overwhelming scary but it was interesting scary if you want to say that. Here and there it has it's awkward humor where they put in something funny and it was somewhat out of place at the moment, but I think that's made the movie come together. The actors did an amazing job, especially Patrick Wilson who played Josh Lambert in the movie. Wilson did an amazing job because he had to sides of him where he wants to protect his family he's still there but a part of him isn't. Some people who have watched the movie are like, "This movie isn't even scary it sucks." They probably thought they were going to encounter more of a scare and didn't get much of that. Even though the movie wasn't scary it kept me at the edge of my seat and had a creative story line unlike other movies. The whole Astral Projection is scary itself. Definitely different from other scary movies.

Week One of My 20 Percent Project

My group and I have been changed our ideas couple of time this week. We were going to go to a retirement and talk to the residents there but we couldn't find a retirement house where they would allow us to interview the residents. It turns out interviewing a resident is invasion of privacy there so we had to change our project. At the end we decided to do reviews on movies. It really interested us because we all love watching movies and it would be fun seeing different types of movies. This whole week we have been working on our proposal to make our lives easier for once we start our project. This Friday we decided to watch our first movie at the theaters. We'll be watching Insidious 2. We won't always be watching movies at the theaters most likely we'll be be renting movies and watching movies on Netflix. Below shows the trailer of Insidious 2.
