Insidious Chapter 2 basically starts off right after where Insidious Chapter 1 stopped off at. In Insidious Chapter 1, Josh Lambert had brought something back with him from the "further" and this thing is inside of him and wants to use him to harm his family. The creepy stuff is happening at night again, their son Dalton is hearing noises and they have to solve a mystery from the past in order to fix wrongs in the present.
The whole story line was fantastic and explained a whole lot. I loved how the first film connected to the second one, where characters had to go back to the past in order to learn more about the present and you sort of had the "Oh this makes sense now" right when they take it to the past. It wasn't overwhelming scary but it was interesting scary if you want to say that. Here and there it has it's awkward humor where they put in something funny and it was somewhat out of place at the moment, but I think that's made the movie come together. The actors did an amazing job, especially Patrick Wilson who played Josh Lambert in the movie. Wilson did an amazing job because he had to sides of him where he wants to protect his family he's still there but a part of him isn't. Some people who have watched the movie are like, "This movie isn't even scary it sucks." They probably thought they were going to encounter more of a scare and didn't get much of that. Even though the movie wasn't scary it kept me at the edge of my seat and had a creative story line unlike other movies. The whole Astral Projection is scary itself. Definitely different from other scary movies.
