Blog 13: Final Blog

After so many blogs, this one is my final blog. Throughout making blogs I learned how to be more responsible. Since all my blogs were due on Fridays, I had to make sure that I watched a movie by Friday and made sure the blogs was done before midnight on Friday. It made me be more responsible and be more on top of my work from school. After I saw everyone else's projects, it kind of made me disappointed that I decided to do my project on that. I really found Emily's and Jennifer's project interesting and I wish I could have done something that actually made a big impact into someone's life. I guess I chose the easy way out when I did the project. When I saw that everyone did a very interesting project, made me wish I actually did something really interesting. At least I know can say I tried doing movie reviews. Even though I really suck at it. I thank Mr. Lee for giving us this project to open my mind more and see the amazing things other groups ended up doing.

Blog 12: Escape Plan

Escape Plan is about a guy that works for a company that sends him to prisons and his job is to escape them. If he can escape them, it'll actually show how really secure that jail is. Later on they send him to a top secret jail so he can test his ability if he can actually get out of that jail. The thing is that is jail is an illegal jail and it is impossible to escape. Throughout the movie it shows him struggling to actually find an escape plan.
I personally loved this movie! It's been a while since I watched a thriller movie. Everything that happened was so creative in the movie. It is a fun, non-stop thrill ride! The story goes by smoothly and fast. Everything the characters is genius. At first I hesitated if I should watch the movie but after I actually decided to watch the movie, I don't regret it! I give the movie an A+ !

Blog 11: Sin Nombre

For spanish I had to write a story about an immigrant crossing the border. So what I did was look up a movie about people
crossing the border to be inspired and write a good story. While I looked up online I saw the movie Sin Nombre. The movie is about a girl from Honduras trying to escape to the United States. It tells about the struggles she has to face while she's on the road. While on a train she meets a guy who is trying to escape his gang he is in. She is drawn to him and ends up traveling with him. This movie was pretty good. I wasn't that amazed, I think I expected better from what I read in the description. Except I feel like it captures the real events that happen to immigrants that try to escape their native lands. I feel like I've watched better movies than this. I'd give this movie a C-

Blog 10: Crazy, Stupid. Love

Crazy stupid love is about how a mans life changes dramatically after his wife asks him for a divorce. After they separate he meets a new friend at the bar and his friend totally transforms him into a confident and girl magnet guy so his wife can see what she lost. Through out the whole movie I was laughing. It's a really nice comedy to watch. It was a nice romantic comedy to watch. I enjoyed everything about this movie. One of the great things about it, is the great acting. Everyone plays their part perfectly and you can actually feel for them in their individual situations/ If you are a Ryan Gosling fan, then it's MUST WATCH MOVIE. His acting is amazing on how he plays a ladies man in this movie and is trying to get his friend on his feet after splitting with his wife. I just saw this movie yesterday and I already want to see it again. That almost never happens that I want to see a movie again right away. This movie has a little of everything and I think most people would enjoy to watch it. I rate this movie a A+

Blog 9

I've been really procrastinating on my 20% project. I haven't watched any new movies lately. I guess I've been focused more on school sorh studying and doing homework, because the end of year is right around the corner and I need to get good grades in order to get my 4.0 this year again. School has me so stressed out that I have left my 20% project off to the side. Which is going to later affect me when I do my presentation in class because I haven't really completed everything I was supposed to do. I'm going to get back on track on watching movies to actually write movie reviews on them. I have to be a bit more organized with this project. I feel like I'm all over the place. I also have to start thinking of creating creative ways to do my presentation to catch my class attention..Well since I haven't watched the orphan I'm planning to watch that movie next week.

Blog 8: Cesar Chavez

Cesar Chavez is a person who changed civil rights for people. He was a leader, labor organizer. father, and husband. Chavez fought for the people who worked in the fields to be paid and treated better. Throughout the movie you see how Chavez fought this movement without violence. It was truly inspiring on how he did everything to change the conditions for the field workers. He inspired many Americans to show that no matter what you can change any social justice. This movie touched my heart, and made me tear up towards the end. It showed the struggle Chavez went through while trying to make a change. He went through a lot and surely deserved this movie to show everyone the movement he did. Not only did he help all the farm laborers but he also made a big change in history. I really liked the movie on how it showed the lives of the field workers to all the struggles everyone went through.
I'd rate this movie a B+

Blog 7

This week I didn't have time to watch a movie. I have been super busy because of my northern california trip. I left this Thursday so I had to turn in a bunch of work and homework before Thursday. I wish I would have had time to watch a movie. Except I was looking forward for my trip. I got to visit UC Merced, UC Berkeley, and UC Santa Cruz. I'm still at the trip right now. I have learned so much about the universities and what the requirements are to be eligible. After this week I'm gonna focus on watching movies and writing wonderful review movies. I'm determined to do a good movies. Since I have been slacking off lately on my movie reviews. Hopefully on our way home we get to watch a few movies and I can write movie reviews on them. Since I have nothing to put as a picture, below is a picture of me at UC Berkeley.

Blog 6: Frozen

The movie frozen is a very popular Disney movie. It's about two princess sisters who grow apart because one of the sisters has a special power that can harm people. As they begin to grow up one of the sisters decides to get married and the other sister doesn't approve. With everything happening it causes problems between them and the whole community. I absolutely loved this movie! It was such a funny and heart touching movie. I love how they kind of teach life lessons in the movie. I fell in love with this Disney movie. It's very heart touching in some parts. I now understand why this movie won a grammy. It's been a while since I've watched a good movie like this. I love the whole plot of the story. I give this movie a A-.

Blog 5: Everybody's Fine

The movie Everybody's Fine is about an old man around 60 years old realizes that after his wife was the only thing that kept his family together. After she passed away he saw that he no longer had much contact with his kids anymore. He decides to set out on a road trip to go visit his children and catch up with them. Except little does he know that the lives of his children aren't as he expected it to be. Everybody's fine tells the story of the journey and his discoveries along the way. This movie was absolutely heart touching. Had me in tears throughout the whole movie. The movie made me realize that many people have somewhat a same situation where one family member is what keeps the family together and once they pass away everything falls apart. I fell in love with this movie with all the situations the old man was faced with to the problems his children had. I was a bit confused at first to why the children didn't really want his father to their to spend quality time with them but at the end you find out. I give this movie an A.

Blog 5: The Boy in the Striped Pajamas

The Boy in the Striped Pajamas is about this innocent kid named Bruno that doesn't know anything about World War 2 or anything that his leader Hitler is doing to the Jews. Since his father is a soldier and runs one of the concentration camp, they set out to move closer to that concentration camp to have his job a bit easier. While there Bruno finds a out where the concentration camp is, but thinks it is a farm. As he's there he gets to know this kid that is a Jew and he grows a friendship with him.
I absolutely loved this movie! I think it captured a lot of what was happening back then. It shows how a lot people really got manipulated by Hitler making them think Jews were bad people. It also shows how many people didn't like anything that Hitler was doing. I was in tears throughout the whole movie. I'm a big weenie coming to sad movies but I really felt like this movie really did bring out my real tears because this is something that really happened in history. I enjoyed this movie very much and give it A .

Blog 3: The Final

In the movie The Final a couple of students are tired of being bullied by a bunch of "cool kids". So they take matters into their own hands. They set up a plan where the bullies lives will change forever. They gather all the "cool kids" at a Halloween party and begin to torture them. I think that this movie was a bit ridiculous. Except I really like the idea of the nerds getting revenge. It's kind of a good story to make bullies think twice about the actions that they did. I loved the costumes that they had on, they portrayed evil people. I think it wasn't much of a horror movie. I enjoyed this movie.I loved the ending to it! How they ended the movie on how it pretty much started. This movie also gives me a lesson like to think twice about the actions that I do because I never know if I'm hurting someone. I think this movie would deserve a B-.

Blog 2: Death Sentence

Nick Hume has a perfect life that everyone wants. Until one night after his sons hockey game, they pass by a gas station to fill the tank. Little did he know that one stop would change his life forever. A few guys went in and killed his son that same night. The movie was really intense and I loved it! The whole drama of the Nick Hume trying to figure our who killed the guy and tracking people down. The only thing I didn't like was that Nick was a nice guy with good manners and I think the movie changed his personality drastically. It made him into a guy that he wasn't. I think that movie could have been a little bit more realistic in some parts, but then again in many movie a train can run over a person and yet the person still lives. I really liked the beginning of the movie but in my opinion they could have had a better ending to it. I give this movie a C.

Blog 1 : Midnight in Paris

The movie is a romantic comedy that it set in Paris. It's about a family that goes there because of a business. The film follows Gil Pender, a screenwriter who is forced to confront the problems with his materialistic fiancee. Soon he finds himself traveling back to the 1920's and having adventures with many people from the twenties. He soon begins to realize is he really does love his fiancee.
I really enjoyed this movie because it took me back to the 1920's and made me feel as if I was in the movie too living the days in the 1920's. It was pretty interesting how Gil Pender is traveling back in time and he realizes that the life that he is living in the present time isn't the life he wants to actually live. The movie is romantic and comedy. Some parts had me laughing for a while. I loved how they brought many old writers from the 1920's in the movie, they had perfect acting. The ending was cheesy in way and could have had a better ending. In my opinion I think this movie deserves a B.
